During last weekend at the National Canoeing Sprint Regatta in Nottingham, Charlie had a performance anxiety attack, re competing in high wind & heavy wave conditions
Outlining her symptoms, she described shortness of breath that she believed to be asthma, tightness in her limbs and an overall feeling of doom on seeing the conditions.
She was stressed!
We did one session of peak performance therapy to rid her of the stress/panic attack and gave her a way to calm and relax herself.
40 minutes later Charlie competed in the same adverse conditions, which she previously hated, this time calm and confident.
Result Charlie won! Instead of finishing in her normal position of 5th or 6th and now she is looking forward to competing in any conditions.
